Hi Guys!
I have to mosaic two images of different seasons and
dates of Landsat satellite data. These images have a great difference
in histogram values. I want to do histogram matching and then
mosaicking of these images to get better visual appearence. I am using
ERDAS IMAGINE. Can anybody please help me to know about the tools used
in erdas imagine for histogram matching.
Thanks

Don't know Erdas Imagine, but think carefully before
doing this. While you could make the images appear
less different (making them similar is unlikely to
be possible), the result will be of little value for
some applications, and downright misleading for
others. On the other hand, if you are just
producing a pretty picture then go ahead.

I had exactly this problem some years ago with
Landsat images of Somalia. In my case the images
were interpreted before mosaicing, and the mosaic
was used just as a pretty background for the
results. I remember that one of the images had some
cloud on it, and this ended up being bright blue
(and a long way from white).

I used my own software, not Erdas Imagine. For the
colur matching, I used histogram matching.
